🌱グループ名由来🌱
レインツリーは、雨になると葉を閉じます。
雨の中葉を閉じてじっと耐え、
日が出ると葉を開く。
その葉に溜まった雫は地面へと溢れ落ち、
自らとその下に集まる生命に生きる力を与えます。
苦難に耐え抜く強さで、
自らにも周りにも大きな力を与える、
そんな力強く優しい存在になれるようにと命名しました。

2023年４月からスタートし約半年間にわたり行われてきた、秋元康氏が手がけるIDOL3.0 PROJECTオーディション。約1万人の応募者の中から最終合格者11名が「WHITE SCORPION」としてデビューしたその裏で、惜しくもデビューを逃した17名は「FINALIST」として1年間活動してきた。
オーディションから1年後の2024年10月8日、17名のFINALISTたちは新たにRain Tree（レインツリー）としてキングレコードからのメジャーデビューを発表。
Rain Treeはシングルごとにメインメンバーを選考するセレクションシステムを導入し、常に進化・変化・成長するグループを目指す。発表直後より歌唱・ダンス・自己表現のレッスンを重ね、各技能の専門家と運営スタッフによりセレクションを行い、11月11日、TFMホールにて綾瀬ことり、遠藤莉乃、加藤柊、佐藤莉華、鈴野みお、新野楓果、橋本真希の7名が1stデジタルシングルのメインメンバーに決定した。
メインメンバーが歌う「Ｉ Ｌ Ｕ」（読み方は、「アイエル ユー」）は、愛してるとはっきり言えない気持ちをアルファベット三文字の合言葉に乗せた、かわいらしくPOPなラブソング。また、カップリング曲はセレクションで選ばれなかったメンバーが歌う「僕のオーロラ」。

並行世界に描かれるRain Treeが表すものはなんなのか…。

Rain trees close their leaves when it rains.
They endure the rain with its leaves closed,
And when the sun comes out, the leaves open.
The water drops that the leaves have collected then fall to the ground, giving strength to those who gather beneath the tree.
Their capacity to endure hardship also gives great strength not only to itself but to those around it too.
We named the company “Rain Tree” in the hope that it will one day become a powerful and gentle being.

The IDOL3.0 PROJECT audition by Yasushi Akimoto started in April 2023 and lasted for about six months. The 11 girls chosen from among the approximately 10,000 applicants debuted as “WHITE SCORPION,” while the 17 who narrowly missed the chance to debut have been performing as “FINALIST” for the past year.
On October 8, 2024, one year after the audition, the 17 FINALIST members announced their debut with King Records as the new unit “Rain Tree”.
Rain Tree introduced a selection system to pick the main members for each single, aiming to be a group that constantly evolves, changes, and grows. Immediately after the announcement, multiple lessons in singing, dancing and self-expression were held, and as a result, on the 11th of November, at TFM Hall (Tokyo), the staffs and specialists from each of the domain selected 7 members, Kotori Ayase, Rino Endo, Shu Kato, Rika Sato, Mio Suzuno, Fuka Nino, and Maki Hashimoto, as the main performers for the group’s first digital single. The main members will sing “I L U”.
I L U” (read as ‘I・L・U’), is a cute, POP style love song that expresses the feeling of not being able to clearly say ‘I love you’ in the form of the three individual letters. The coupling song is “Boku no Aurora (My Aurora)” sung by the 10 members who were not selected in this round of selection.
