Who were the 6888th Battalion?

The Six Triple Eight Postal Directory Battalion were a unit of the Women's Army Corps in World War 2.

The 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion also known as the Six Triple Eight— the only all-Black, all-female battalion deployed overseas during World War II. Tasked with clearing a two-year backlog of mail destined for U.S. soldiers fighting on the front lines they achieved the near impossible task assigned to them.
